The Club has already identified a number of ideal candidates who could potentially join Michael Voss, Adrian Fletcher, Gary O’Donnell and Shane Woewodin on the Lions’ coaching staff for 2012.
One person who had been approached by the Lions included former Adelaide Senior Coach Neil Craig who today announced he will be joining the Melbourne Football Club as their Director of Sports Performance.
Lions General Manager of Football Operations Dean Warren said the Club is committed to finding the best possible people.
“We certainly saw Neil as someone who could potentially be a valuable addition to our coaching group, as did several other clubs and sporting organisations,” Warren said.
“But we still have a group of suitable candidates earmarked and will proceed with our thorough interview process.”
“We remain confident of finding two Assistant Coaches of the highest quality.”
The Club will be hoping to finalise its 2012 coaching staff in the coming weeks and will advise its members and supporters once the appointments have been made.
