HAWTHORN has confirmed dynamic forward Cyril Rioli will miss at least three weeks with a hamstring strain.

Rioli suffered the injury in the third quarter of Hawthorn's loss to the Sydney Swans.

On the bench with an iced up leg on Friday night, Rioli looked a frustrated figure but Hawthorn's football operations manager Chris Fagan said the 24-year-old was keeping positive.

"While Cyril is disappointed to be missing some footy, he remains in good spirits and is eager to get stuck into his rehab straight away with our medical staff," Fagan said.

The Hawks confirmed Rioli would miss three to four weeks.

After the bye next week, the Hawks have a top of the table clash with Port Adelaide in round 10, then Greater Western Sydney at the MCG and West Coast in Launceston.
