DUMPED captain Stephen Coniglio is back in favour for Greater Western Sydney's must-win, last-round clash with St Kilda at the Gabba on Friday night.

The Saints will also benefit from an injection of star power, with Dan Hannebery and Jake Carlisle their two additions for the game, as they, too, try to secure a finals berth.

Hannebery hasn't played since five because of his latest hamstring setback, while Carlisle had fallen out of St Kilda's first-choice defensive structure.

Going out for the seventh-placed Saints are Nick Hind (omitted) and Zak Jones (hamstring), who went down in the fourth quarter of last week's defeat to West Coast.

Giants coach Leon Cameron stopped short during the week of guaranteeing Coniglio's return after the shock decision to drop him after a sustained period below his usual standard.

BARRETT Rivals will come calling after Coniglio's humiliation

However, the 26-year-old midfielder joins NAB AFL Rising Star nominee Jake Riccardi as the incoming players for GWS, which axed Harry Himmelberg and Adam Kennedy.

Cameron had warned after last week's loss to Melbourne there could be more high-profile selection victims from his 10th-ranked side.

Himmelberg's been goalless in four of his past six games and kicked only two majors in that time.

A victory would make certain of St Kilda's finals return, whereas the Giants must not only win but need other factors to go their way to make the post-season for the fifth year in a row.
