GEELONG chief executive Brian Cook is in hospital with an illness.

The long-time Cats boss is recovering from an infection and is expected to be released by the end of the week.

The club confirmed on Tuesday Cook, 58, had been admitted to Geelong Hospital.

Geelong president Colin Carter said indications were Cook would make a full recovery.

"He's on antibiotics. We know he'll be fine but he's not too flash at the moment," Carter told the Geelong Advertiser.
