TOP-FOUR fancy Geelong has received a boost, with talented duo Daniel Menzel and Nakia Cockatoo set to return through the VFL on the weekend.

Menzel, 26, has not played since round five as he dealt with a groin injury, while Cockatoo has been plagued by a left knee issue.

He was injured against West Coast in round three.

"Dan Menzel has been training well with the boys for a couple of weeks. He'll make a return to football this weekend," head physiotherapist Mark Young told geelongcats.com.au.

"Nakia Cockatoo, who's had that PCL injury, he's been training well. He'll also play this weekend."

Menzel had an excellent start to the season, booting 15 goals from five matches.

Ruckman Zac Smith will also play in the seconds after recovering from gastro.

The Cats face Werribee at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday at 11am AEST.

Meanwhile, Stewart Crameri is back training after being poked in an eye while playing VFL and is hopeful of playing next weekend.

"He had an injury to his retina, which is part of the eye. He's seen specialists, who had to perform a minor procedure involving laser," Young said.

Small forward Lincoln McCarthy is back running after a hamstring strain.
