The Geelong Football Club is pleased to announce that Craig Drummond has been appointed to the club’s board. The appointment was formalised at the club’s scheduled board meeting tonight.

A lifelong and passionate Geelong supporter, Craig joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in October 2009 as Chief Executive Officer and Country Head.

Prior to that, Craig joined Goldman Sachs JB Were in 1986 working in equity research and in other roles from 2003-2009 including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer.

Craig graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Melbourne in 1981. He completed the Advanced Management Program at Wharton University in 2001. Craig is a fully accredited member of the Stockbrokers Association of Australia, a Senior Fellow of FINSIA and is a Chartered Accountant.

Craig is a Director of Scotch College, The Australian Davos Connection and the Florey Neuroscience Institutes. He is also a Member of the Business Council of Australia (BCA) and a Member of the University of New South Wales’ Australian School of Business Advisory Council. He is also a Board Member of the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA).

“Craig brings a wealth of experience to the club,” Geelong president Colin Carter said.

“He has been a long time supporter of the club and now he will take on the additional responsibility as a member of the board. It is rare that a club can draw on a person of Craig’s capabilities, both in a professional and personal sense.”

When asked about his appointment, Craig said he felt privileged to be able to make a contribution to the Geelong Football Club as a member of the Board.

“The Geelong Football Club is an institution based on strong values and a commitment to achieve greatness in all that it does. The club has an established plan for current and future success and I will be doing everything I can to ensure that the targets we have set can be realized.

“As a lifelong Geelong supporter, I am excited about the opportunity to apply my skills to the challenge of ensuring that the club continues to achieve both on field and off field success.”
