MELBOURNE and the Western Bulldogs have both made late changes to their line-ups at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

Promising young Melbourne forward Michael Newton has been scratched from the side, with Jace Bode set to come in for his fifth senior game.

The Bulldogs will be without Nathan Eagleton, who has failed to come up from an ankle injury sustained in last weekend's clash with Adelaide.

He will be replaced by former Cat Tim Callan, who will play in his first premiership game for his new club.

The Demons will start Bode on the bench along with youngsters Cale Morton, Colin Garland and Isaac Weetra, while the Bulldogs will have Mitch Hahn, Daniel Giansiracusa, Shaun Higgins and Dylan Addison initially on the pine.

The forecast for Saturday afternoon is for developing showers, with the morning drizzle already ensuring the turf will be slippery and the ball heavy early on.
