Shannon has now played his first games for the 2004 season. An extended rehabilitation program to recover from a bout of groin pain did not allow him to play in the recent International Rules Youth series against Ireland. Following his first full game recently, Shannon reported that his "groins have been great and fitness is going well. Everything felt really good in the game."
Shannon will now look forward to the National's Under 18 Championships in July.
