Port Adelaide midfielder Jacob Surjan has become the third Power player to become eligible for the NAB Rising Star, following his round 11 nomination.

Surjan teamed up with counterparts and fellow nominees Danyle Pearce and Brad Symes to be prolific in the Power's crunching 96-point victory over the Hawks at AAMI Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The former South Fremantle midfielder was selected by the Power in the 2004 NAB pre-season draft and had an encouraging opening year with his new club.

He made his senior debut that year and went on to play five games, which he followed up with three in 2005. This year, he has managed six so far.

He switched SANFL clubs in 2005 and made the move from Central to the Magpies – a decision that resulted in him being awarded a regular role in the midfield and some high possession games.

His best performance in 2006 was most recently against the Hawks, where he grabbed 26 possessions, took seven marks and kicked one goal.
