Leon played tests 1 and 2 of the International Rules Youth series in the Offensive Centreman / HFF rotation and worked well to win a fair bit of football. On more than one occassion, carrying the ball and in a chase down tackle, Leon showed that he has a good turn of speed. He has recently played in the National's AFL Challenge Cup series for Tasmania and kicked 4 goals in the final game against Queensland.

Being a left footer he can create space for himself, can get out of the contest and he keeps his feet well. Leon’s stand out quality has to be that he consistently and reliably hits the target by foot and he is now working on that quality finish.
