Tipping the eight AFL winners is one of the hottest topics across Life Care residential aged care sites each week.

Footy tipping is serious business, as is the form of the Adelaide Crows, for a large majority of Life Care residents.

And this week Adelaide Crows players will visit the five residences across Adelaide to be part of the annual footy tipping awards ceremonies.

It is not the first time this season that the Glen Osmond, Joslin, Aldinga Beach, Everard Park and Reynella residences have been treated to Crows visits.

David MacKay, pictured here getting some advice from Laurel Battersby from the Parkrose Village at Everard Park, was one of the players who visited earlier this year.

The Crows midfielder said there is no doubt age does not weary one’s love for the football or their team.

More used to visiting schools and hospitals, Mackay said the red carpet was literally rolled out for them and there were plenty of kisses and hugs to go round.

“The ladies wanted a hug while the men were not short on giving out some on-field advice,” Mackay said.

““We were not travelling too well when I visited and yet they were all so positive.

“They love their footy and they love the Crows - that’s for sure.”

Life Care CEO Allen Candy says they actively encourage their residents to stay involved in their hobbies, interests and clubs.

“Without your passions, you’re no longer really living,” Mr Candy said.

“Not surprisingly we have many Crows supporters, which is why we partnered with them. Not only for the sheer delight that it will bring our residents but also for the many opportunities it gives us to urge people to live every day of their lives.”

Rhonda Kemp, from the Roselin Court residence at Joslin, said meeting Taylor Walker was one of the most unbelievable moments in her life.

“He was a lovely gentleman and he said hello to everyone,” Mrs Kemp said.

“He is my favourite player and such a strong young man.”

Mrs Kemp, who dressed up in her Crows gear for the occasion, said it was an unbelievable moment actually meeting him and she will never forget talking to him.
