Spelly: Hi Brendon, welcome to the chat site. Do you find it difficult combining your school work with your AFL football career?

Brendon Goddard: Pretty difficult at the start, but it has become easier ... school is very important.

lenny_rules: Is there much pressure on you being the number 1 draft pick?

Brendon Goddard: Only the pressure that I put on myself. Down at the Club I am just another player trying to play senior footy.

saints2005: Have you at least been able to settle in and call St Kilda home now?

Brendon Goddard: For sure!

lenny_rules: What club did you play for as a junior?

Brendon Goddard: Under 10 - Under 14 West End.

saintorsinner: Who is the toughest player you have had to match up against?

Brendon Goddard: Chris Tarrant.

riccardo: What is the best part of being an AFL player?

Brendon Goddard: Making a career out of the game I love playing.

Stk2003: What position do you like playing best? I think you would be great on the wing.

Brendon Goddard: Have to say in the back line or half forward.

Romy: With football and study taking up most of your time, how do you relax?

Brendon Goddard: Play golf and shopping.

mac: Do you see yourself as a long term Sainter? We all love you!

Brendon Goddard: At this stage ... yes!

Guest75427: How are the rest of the team handling the injuries?

Brendon Goddard: We look at it as bad luck, but everyone trained today including Aaron.

riccardo: What is it like being asked for autographs and stuff?

Brendon Goddard: It was a bit weird at the start, but you can't really knock anyone back.

low__life: How do you feel about playing AFL now? Do you still get nervous?

Brendon Goddard: Yes, but I have a routine before the games I stick to.

danni_luvs_riewoldt: Hey Brendon! Do you have a girlfriend?

Brendon Goddard: Not at the moment.

riccardo: What is it like to travel interstate to play?

Brendon Goddard: It is a new experience. It puts a bit more stress on the body than in a normal week.

ilove: What subjects are you doing at school?

Brendon Goddard: English, Health, Physical Education and Art.

gods_daughter: What sort of car do you have?

Brendon Goddard: A Forester ... I got my P's a few weeks ago.

lenny_rox: What are your career plans outside of footy?

Brendon Goddard: I would like to go to University and become a Physical Education teacher.

saintoffire: What is your nickname at the Club?

Brendon Goddard: Gargamel - the boys reckon I look like him (off the Smurfs).

saintboy: What other sports did you play while growing up?

Brendon Goddard: Cricket, basketball and netball (mixed).

verysaintly: Which players do you most admire at St Kilda?

Brendon Goddard: Lenny and Aaron.

TC: Do you think you may need to have a break for a week later in the season?

Brendon Goddard: I don't see it as a bad idea. Everyone enjoyed the week off.

gods_daughter: Who are your favourite mates at the Club?

Brendon Goddard: Clarke, Maguire, Houlihan - the young guys mostly.

saintboy: What do you eat before a game?

Brendon Goddard: Toast, then if it is an afternoon game I go to Subway a couple of hours before.

lenny_rules: What is your pre-game routine?

Brendon Goddard: We have a set team pre-game routine, including massage and light warm-up. I used to have little personal routines ... I always try to go out last - socks pulled up and jumper out!

CrYSSiE_18: What has been your highlight or most memorable moment so far in your AFL career?

Brendon Goddard: My first game and the game against Brisbane.

saint_18: Has anyone told you that you play a bit like James Hird?

Brendon Goddard: That is very nice.

peter_robson: When do you believe the Saints have a realistic chance of winning the Premiership?

Brendon Goddard: We would like to think we could win one this year or next!

riccardo: How do the players deal with any media hype?

Brendon Goddard: Try to take it easy and try to avoid it.

peter_robson: What do you think of Grant Thomas as a coach?

Brendon Goddard: I wasn't sure when I first got there, but now I know where he wants the team to go. He wants the best!

saint_18: Do you think we will retain all of our young stars for awhile?

Brendon Goddard: Nothing special - I don't see it as a problem.

saints2004: Can we beat Melbourne on the weekend? It is really a must win game.

Brendon Goddard: Pretty confident, but they have a point to prove so it will be a pretty tough game.

ilove: Do you have any pets?

Brendon Goddard: At home I had a cat called Yoda.

Super-Saint: Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Brendon Goddard: Three sisters and a brother.

NiCkI: How far off is Max Hudghton from coming back to the Saints?

Brendon Goddard: From what I have heard he will play this week.

Brendon Goddard: Pasta.

ilove: Was it hard not being drafted by the Blues?

Brendon Goddard: At first, but certainly not now!

Brendon Goddard: Thanks for all the great comments and all the questions. See you later!
