"IT'S NOT f@$#ing tennis ... If you don't want to defend, if that's not your priority, grab your bag, put your shoes in it and walk out."
That was the ultimatum delivered by Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks to his midfield - or maybe just Brad Crouch - early last season.
In dramatic never-before-seen footage from inside the Crows camp for the Making Their Mark series to be released on March 12, Nicks fires a broadside at his players after a 75-point thumping at the hands of crosstown rivals Port Adelaide in round two.
"You're walking out of here with one thing on your mind. Whatever you've been in the past, no longer. I now value defence."

After watching vision of one particular stoppage where Crouch finds himself tailing his opponent by 10 metres, midfield coach Michael Godden asks him: "You can't influence the play, now you've got to work your arse off. That's confronting to you, isn't it?"
Crouch responds: "I do agree with it. I look at the stuff that we can do before that and at that contest and … it hangs me out to dry as well."
The seven-part series, produced by JAM TV Australia, also follows key figures at Richmond (Damien Hardwick, Peggy O'Neal, Brendon Gale), Gold Coast (Stuart Dew), Greater Western Sydney (Stephen Coniglio), and Carlton (Eddie Betts).
