Sports Physiotherapist

Collingwood Football Club is seeking an experienced Sports Physiotherapist to come on board and join our AFL men’s program and provide first class physiotherapy treatment that allows our athletes to perform their role to the best of their ability.

 

This exciting opportunity will see the successful applicant be responsible for preparing our players for the physical rigors of elite sport, by ensuring they reach their maximum physical condition. Reporting into our Senior Physiotherapist, this is a pivotal role within our medical department, championing an alignment with all relevant departments within the physical performance space, including our Medical staff, Strength & Conditioning and Sports Science teams. 

 

It will also be responsible for the education of players around practical rehabilitation sessions and correct preventative training techniques, as well as the implementation and prescription of specific rehabilitation conditioning sessions for players, as required. You will play an active role in weekly medical reviews, ensuring constant communication across all departments on player programs and player loads.

 

Your role will focus on effectively motivating players to achieve their maximum potential, whilst also having the ability to anticipate potential risks of injury and keeping across current trends and issues in all relevant sports medicine areas.

 

This role requires an individual who has a willingness to adapt to a fast changing environment and can accept the pressures and demands associated with the competition. The successful applicant will be positive, resilient and be willing to challenge, when required, to ensure we consistently execute best practise treatments and programming for our athletes.

 

You will have relevant Physiotherapy qualifications, and a minimum of five years working with high performance athletes, or within a high performance sporting environment. As with the nature of elite sport, you must have flexibility to adapt to an evolving training schedule over the season.
