The 21 year-old drew praise from development coach Jason Lappin after helping North Ballarat to an impressive 60-point win on home soil.
"Luke (Delaney) was a standout with a faultless display at full-back and had his best game of the season," Lappin told kangaroos.com.au.
"He convincingly defeated several opponents with some terrific spoiling and contested play. He also provided plenty of rebound. His skill efficiency was another highlight."
Luke and brother Cameron have fast become a formidable defensive partnership for the Roosters, and the younger sibling's rapid development is just as exciting.
"Cam provided great support for Luke and the rest of the backs in his best game for the club, with a solid defensive performance on a number of opponents. He had 22 possessions including 19 kicks, with almost all of them effective."
Aaron Black (7 possessions) is happy just to be out on the park after an extended period on the sidelines, and while he hasn't been registering huge numbers, it's the defensive side of his game that's been most pleasing.
"He provided some terrific forward pressure to finish with seven tackles. He also added two goals in the first half before being rested for the last quarter," Lappin added.
Disappointed to be omitted from the Kangaroos side for the clash with Melbourne on Saturday, Liam Anthony (29 possessions, 5 tackles, 1 goal) responded in the best way possible with stints in a variety of positions.
"He handled the step back to VFL level really well to be effective in a new role at half-back for the first half, and then provided a lot of drive as an inside midfielder in the second half."
While Anthony will be hoping for an immediate recall, hard-running wingman Brayden Norris (21 possessions) is positioning himself well for his first game in the royal blue and white.
Norris also had his "best game of the season" and combined with rookie Aaron Mullett (17 possessions) on either side of the square to provide plenty of opportunities for North Ballarat's forwards.
