Riewoldt left the ground after clashing with Adelaide's Graham Johncock in the third quarter of last Saturday's loss to the Crows.
The Saints skipper passed a concussion test but had blurred vision and was forced to stay off the ground for the remainder of the game.
St Kilda elite performance manager David Misson said he was confident Riewoldt would recover for the clash with the Blues.
"All signs are pretty good at this stage. He is walking around the club training as normal. We've got two training sessions to go before we play and he'd have to get through those. But we're pretty hopeful," Misson told afl.com.au on Tuesday afternoon.
Riewoldt could be joined in the forward line by fellow big man Justin Koschitzke, who missed the Crows' clash with an ankle injury.
Koschitzke had been struggling with the injury for much of the summer but Misson said he should be available this week.
"The ankle has pulled up pretty well after a week off," he said.
"He trained today and we're hopeful he is going to be able to play this weekend at some stage, either VFL or AFL. It will be up to the match committee."
