AFLW Statement

THE AFL wishes to advise the AFLW All-Australian selection panel has confirmed the 40-person squad that is in contention for selection for the 2022 AFL Women’s All-Australian Team.

A final team of 21 players including a captain and vice-captain will be announced at the W Awards to be held on Tuesday, April 5, at Crown Palladium.

Players from all 14 AFLW teams have been selected with Melbourne Football Club leading club representation in the squad with seven players named.

The W Awards

The AFL is pleased to advise the 2022 W Awards will be held at Crown Palladium on the evening of Tuesday, April 5 with the Awards to be broadcast live on FOX FOOTY.

The W Awards will recognise the league Best and Fairest, NAB AFLW Rising Star, All Australian Team, Four’N Twenty Mark of the Year and rebel Goal of the Year. 

The two teams that make it through to the NAB AFLW Grand Final will join the function from satellite locations as they prepare for the biggest match of the season.

FOX FOOTY’s coverage of the W Awards commences at 7:00pm AEST beginning with the naming of the All-Australian side and the NAB AFLW Rising Star, followed by AFL360 at 7:30pm AEST live from the studio ahead of the official vote count of the league’s best and fairest at 8.30pm AEST.

The W Awards will also be broadcast via Kayo, AFL.com.au and the AFL Official App.
