The 2012 NAB AFL Draft will be held on Thursday, November 22 at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre. The great facilities and stunning backdrop of the Gold Coast will be the home of one of the AFL’s biggest events for the next three years.
In the lead up to the draft, AFL National and International Talent Manager, Kevin Sheehan has released his list of the 30 leading prospects. Detailed profiles of Kevin Sheehan’s Top 30 are attached.
Kevin Sheehan said that close to 100 players will be given the chance to make AFL lists this year.
“I believe that they all have excellent chances of having exciting careers but the beauty of AFL talent identification is that selections are never clear cut and only father-son selections and upgraded rookies can be certain of their destination,” Mr Sheehan said.
“It now comes down to opinions – human judgements on which players, in the view of the individual clubs, have what’s necessary to make a difference at the elite level.”
“There will be passes late in the draft to leave room for preseason draft selections in late December. ”
