ANGUS Monfries isn't letting the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority's ongoing investigation into Essendon's 2012 supplements scandal distract him, according to Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak.
Monfries, who was traded to Alberton at the end of the 2012 season, has refused to comment on whether he was one of the 34 players issued with a show-cause notice by ASADA.
But Boak said Monfries, who has booted 12 goals from his seven games this year, was seemingly unaffected by the investigation.
He said the players would always be ready to support Monfries if called upon but that so far the "strong-minded" forward had coped perfectly well.
"We haven't spoken about it at all," Boak said.
"He's just worried about footy at the moment, he's worried about the Port Adelaide Footy club and that's a credit to him…he just wants to go out there and help us perform.
"Certainly it's a tough situation, we don't want him to be in that situation at all, but all we can do is lend our hand of support and if he needs us we're there for him.
"But, as I said, Gussy's pretty strong-minded and he just wants to go out there and play footy."
Monfries is set to line up in Saturday's clash against the Western Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval.
He'll play against his former side in round 16 when the Bombers travel to Adelaide.
