South Australia and Tasmania have claimed title wins at the 2022 NAB AFL National Development Championships U16 Boys.

South Australia edged out Victoria Metro and Western Australia for the Division 1 title. All three sides won two of their three matches in the round-robin series, with South Australia securing first place on percentage. Victoria Country rounded out the Division 1 ladder in fourth spot.

Tasmania won all three matches to secure the Division 2 title, despite one more match still to be played between GWS Giants and Brisbane Lions. Gold Coast Suns currently sit second on the Division 2 ladder with a 2-1 record, ahead of the GWS Giants, Brisbane Lions, Sydney Swans and Northern Territory.

Eight teams have announced their MVP winners, with the Brisbane Lions and GWS Giants to announce their winners following their final match. The team MVP winners are selected by the coaching staff of each program:

Victoria Country’s Finn O'Sullivan was named the Kevin Sheehan Medallist as the Best and Fairest for the Division 1 competition.

The award was selected by a panel comprising Kevin Sheehan (AFL Talent Ambassador – Chairman), Tarkyn Lockyer (AFL National Academy Coach/Manager), Mick Agresta (Carlton), Robert Forster-Knight (Essendon), Leon Harris (Brisbane Lions), Derek Hine (Collingwood) and Richard Taylor (Adelaide),

The panel will select the Alan McLean Medallist for the Division 2 Best and Fairest following the GWS Giants v Brisbane Lions match, with the 2022 NAB AFL National Development Championships U16 Boys All-Australian team to also be announced following the final game.
