Exciting Giant Liam Sumner signs until the end of the 2016 season
GREATER Western Sydney has secured the signature of another exciting prospect, with small forward/midfielder Liam Sumner re-signing with the club until the end of 2016.
"I’m really happy to be playing my football here in Sydney. We have a great group of guys here at the Giants, and I love the lifestyle too," Sumner said.
"The playing group is working really hard and despite us not stringing four quarters together yet this season, I believe we have a big future and I can’t wait to be a part of it."
Sumner was taken with pick No.10 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft and has played six games.
Football manager Graeme Allan welcomed Sumner's decision to commit to the club for another three years.
"To have a player of Liam’s calibre re-sign is a further show of faith in the Giants and how we are tracking in our second season in the AFL," he said.
"We believe Liam’s got a bright future on the field, and he’s also a great person to have around the club so we’re pleased he’s committed for the next three years."
The re-signing of Sumner follows commitments from several high-profile Giants, including Callan Ward, Phil Davis, Tom Scully, Jon Patton, Jeremy Cameron, Stephen Coniglio, Adam Treloar, Dylan Shiel, Tomas Bugg and Toby Greene.
