Victoria Metro and Victoria Country will clash for the 2022 NAB AFL National Championships U18 Boys title at Marvel Stadium on Thursday September 22.

Both sides are undefeated at this year’s Championships, having each recorded three wins across their opening three games.

The two sides will meet during AFL Grand Final week in the final game of the round-robin series, with the winner to claim this year’s title.

The match will be broadcast live on Fox Footy and streamed via AFL.com.au. The first bounce will take place at 4:35pm.

AFL Head of Talent Pathways, Grant Williams, said: “The 2022 NAB AFL National Championships have showcased the talented players from every state and territory and we look forward to awarding the title to the winner of the match between Victoria Metro and Victoria Country.

“It is a fantastic result for the players and the Championships to play the title-deciding match at Marvel Stadium and to have the match broadcast live on Fox Footy.

“The match will feature a host of top prospects eligible for selection in the 2022 NAB AFL Draft and will further add to the excitement of AFL Grand Final week.”

The Larke Medal will be awarded to the Best and Fairest from the Championships following the match between Victoria Metro and Victoria Country.

The award will be selected by a panel comprising Kevin Sheehan (AFL Talent Ambassador – Chairman), Tarkyn Lockyer (AFL National Academy Coach/Manager) and AFL club recruiters Scott Clayton (North Melbourne), Mark McKenzie (Hawthorn), Kelly O’Donnell (Melbourne) and Geoff Parker (Port Adelaide).

The panel will also select the 2022 NAB AFL National Championships U18 Boys All-Australian team following the match.

The NAB AFL National Championships are the highest level of state and territory representative football, as part of the AFL’s Talent Pathway Program. The competition features the most talented boys from across Australia who are the next generation of stars in the men’s game.
