Arch-rivals Carlton and Collingwood will meet in a double-header on Sunday August 21, with the Round Smithy's VFL match between the Blues and Magpies moved to the MCG.

THE ROUND 22 Smithy’s VFL match between Carlton and Collingwood on Sunday August 21 has been moved to the MCG to form a huge double-header between the arch-rivals.

The match was originally scheduled to be played at Ikon Park but has been moved to the MCG to align with the AFL clash between the Blues and Magpies.

The Smithy’s VFL match will commence at 11.45am, ahead of the AFL game at 3.20pm.

Both games will be broadcast on the Seven Network, with the Smithy’s VFL game also streamed live via the AFL website (AFL.com.au) and AFL Live Official App.

The Smithy’s VFL clash with have huge implications on Carlton and Collingwood’s finals hopes.

The sides currently sit in seventh and fifth place respectively with two rounds remaining and will be looking to cement a place in the finals with a win on the final day of the home and away season.

Depending on other results, victory could also clinch a top-four spot for the winner and a double-chance in the finals series.

The AFL can also confirm two other schedule changes for Round 22 of the Smithy’s VFL season.

The clash between Richmond and Frankston at the Swinburne Centre on Saturday August 20 will now be broadcast on the Seven Network. The match will commence at 2.10pm, five minutes later than previously advised.

Meanwhile, the match between North Melbourne and Gold Coast Suns at Arden Street Oval, also on Saturday August 20, has been rescheduled to 10.30am. The match was originally scheduled to commence at 9.45am.
