GREATER Western Sydney has secured emerging defender Nathan Wilson on a three-year deal that ties him to the club until the end of the 2018.

The 22-year-old West Australian played 13 games in 2015, his fourth season at the club.

The Giants pre-listed Wilson as a 17-year-old and have helped him develop into a solid player.

Several rival clubs, including Port Adelaide, Adelaide and the Brisbane Lions were keen to lure Wilson away from GWS, but he said he was rapt to commit to the club.

"I’ve loved my time here at the Giants and this is where I want to be playing my football," Wilson said.

"This season has been my best yet and I just want to keep improving. Under Leon Cameron we all know there are exciting things to come and I want to be a part of it."

The Giants have signed the majority of their stars this year including Dylan Shiel, Devon Smith and Jeremy Cameron.

But Adam Treloar, who was runner-up in their best and fairest, has told the club he wants to be traded to Collingwood.

Key forward Cam McCarthy, who is under contract until 2017, also requested a trade last week but the club said in a statement it would not be prepared to trade him.
