BEN KEAYS and Eric Hipwood are among the talented draft prospects set to line-up for Queensland in its opening clash of the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships against Northern Territory.
Saturday's game will be streamed live on AFL.com.au with thanks to Telstra at 12.30pm local time from Southport, with Queensland tipped to have several players drafted from its squad this year.
Keays will be keen to back up his excellent national carnival last year, which saw him named in the All Australian team as one of only five bottom-aged players picked in the squad.
He is a hard-working, prolific midfielder who finds plenty of the ball with a no-fuss approach.
His Queensland and NAB AFL Academy teammate Hipwood will switch between centre half-forward and centre half-back through the carnival, with both prospects tied to the Brisbane Lions as local academy players.
Northern Territory is expected to have some eye-catching performers, with Davin Ferreira a 174cm inside midfielder who last week made his senior debut for SANFL club Norwood.
He gathered 18 disposals and kicked three goals in a confidence-boosting effort before his three games with Northern Territory in the national championships.
