ADELAIDE forward Tom Lynch is expected to return to the club next week after being diagnosed with viral meningitis.
The 26-year-old has spent time in hospital, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
No decision has been made on when Lynch will be cleared to return to play.
Viral meningitis is an infection of the covering of the spinal cord and brain caused by a variety of viruses, most commonly those associated with gastroenteritis.
Crows senior medical officer Dr Marc Cesana said Lynch was starting to feel better after he first reported symptoms on Monday.
"Tom became unwell earlier in the week and subsequent tests revealed a viral infection," Dr Cesana said.
"He is already on the improve.
"We expect him to return to the club next week when a decision on his availability will be made."
Lynch has booted 20 goals in 13 games this season, while also averaging 7.2 marks per game.
