Early prognosis

De Goey insists he's fine and durable skipper Pendlebury would have to be seriously injured to miss a preliminary final, while Sier was hampered by an apparent corked thigh. Moore could return after six weeks on the sidelines, but Elliott, Scharenberg, Dunn, Wells, Broomhead and Sam Murray won't play again this season. The club continues to monitor Kirby's heart issue. - Ben Collins

Jack Viney and Aaron vandenBerg were on light duties at training on Monday but should train fully on Wednesday. Early prognosis

There were plenty of sore Tigers after the Hawthorn win but with a week off, they've had time to recuperate. Rance and Riewoldt were treated during the game for feet issues but have trained without incident since, while Butler has turned a corner and will put up his hand. Rioli jarred a finger at training but will play, as will Martin, but the Brownlow medallist will be closely watched this week after he missed large parts of Friday and Monday's training sessions with a mystery cork. - Jennifer Phelan

Estimated Return

Andrew Gaff  Suspension  4 matches to serve
 Eric Mackenzie  Toe  Season
 Nic Naitanui  Knee  Season
 Tony Olango  Hamstring  Season
 Brad Sheppard  Hamstring  Season
Updated: Tuesday, September 18

Early prognosis

Sheppard has undergone surgery to repair his hamstring tendon and will begin his rehab program within a month after joining first-choice teammates Gaff, Naitanui and Mackenzie on the sidelines for the rest of the season. The Eagles had some sore players after the qualifying final, with Scott Lycett and Elliot Yeo both missing training, and star spearhead Josh Kennedy welcomed the weekend off to recover from his first game in seven weeks ahead of the prelim against Melbourne.
