Early prognosis

Howe hurt his left ankle in the preliminary final win over Richmond but scans cleared him of damage and he appears certain to take his place in the Grand Final against West Coast. Even if Moore is passed fit he is unlikely to be selected after seven weeks on the sidelines, but the key defender could come under consideration to take on the Eagles’ tall forwards. ElliottScharenbergDunnWellsBroomhead and Sam Murray won't play again this season. The club continues to monitor Kirby's heart issue. - Ben Collins

Updated: Tuesday, September 25

Early prognosis

McGovern missed training on Monday due to a big corky on his hip but the triple All Australian will be ready to go for the Grand Final, and Shuey will also be fine after tweaking his left ankle during the preliminary final belting of Melbourne. Travis King
