GEELONG insists speedster David Wojcinski will play in the Grand Final against Collingwood despite the 31-year-old sitting out Tuesday's open training session at Skilled Stadium with leg soreness.

Wojcinski and Steve Johnson (knee) were the only members of the team that beat West Coast last weekend who missed the session.

"He's just got a little bit of a sore Achilles/calf," Cats coach Chris Scott said.

"This is not a session, traditionally, where we have everyone out here.

"He'll be out there tomorrow. There's no problem with him."

Having played in the Brisbane Lions' 2001 and '02 premierships, Scott knows plenty about the hectic build-up to the biggest game of the season.

"I won't lie to you and say that I'm not a little bit edgy, I think we all are," Scott said.

"But that's a positive thing. As long as it doesn’t affect our preparation, then we'll go in feeling good about ourselves."

Around 6000 supporters turned out for Geelong's only open training session of the week, and Scott was delighted to see so many fans on the terraces.

"In Brisbane we probably had one bay of people [at our pre-Grand Final training session], so there was a little bit of atmosphere but nothing like this, that's for sure," Scott said.

"It's one of the great things about being the last of the community clubs."

The Geelong players trained for about an hour before they signed countless autographs for the fans.

Once that was done, and the players had retreated to the change rooms, hundreds of supporters enjoyed kick-to-kick on the lush Skilled Stadium turf.

"It's fantastic," Scott said. "We'd love to have our supporters here at every session. Unfortunately that's not the reality of modern footy.

"But this week it's good to get everyone involved as much as possible.

"It helps build the atmosphere."
