Springvale 18.12.120 d Geelong 15.10.100

The Scorpions recorded another solid victory in the ABC TV match of the round at Skilled Stadium on Saturday. The 20 point win was setup through the performances of several listed Saints including Justin Peckett who pushed his claims for another senior berth with 33 possessions in the midfield. Peckett's class and precision disposal is particularly evident at the VFL level and it was his leadership that ensured the Scorpions kept second position on the ladder and a 3-0 record. Others to impress were the
dangerous Josh Houlihan (5 goals in a classy display), rookie lister Allan Murray who continues his good form particularly in the air, whilst first year player Matthew Ferguson found the ball again his 18 possessions including five marks. Three goals in the third quarter gave Troy Schwarze four for the match in an usual forward role, whilst Brett Voss (23 possessions) and Matt Maguire held up the defence. Young ruckman Chris Oliver was reported for unduly rough play in the first quarter, whilst Daniel Wulf came off in the first half with a leg injury that will be further assessed throughout the week.

The Scorpions now take on Werribee on Saturday, 3rd May in this weeks ABC TV game from Shepley Oval, Dandenong at 1:10pm.
