WEST Coast is hopeful captain Shannon Hurn, midfield bull Elliot Yeo and emerging tall forward Oscar Allen will all be available immediately post-bye after missing the loss to Sydney at the SCG last Sunday.

The Eagles will return from a mandatory four-day break and train at their plush new Mineral Resources Park headquarters on Friday, ramping up preparations six days out from their home clash with Essendon.

FULL FIXTURE Every round, every game

Hurn seems a strong chance to be fit to face the Bombers after sustaining a minor hamstring strain late in the 61-point belting of the Bulldogs 12 days ago.

The durable skipper's run of 46-straight games was broken against the Swans and he was sorely missed in a backline torn apart by Lance Franklin, Tom Papley (five goals each) and Sam Reid (three) in a 45-point defeat.

After holding opponents to 73 points or fewer during their five-game winning streak, the Eagles coughed up 116 to Sydney – their biggest score conceded since the 2017 semi-final thrashing from the Giants.

Losing Yeo, arguably vying with Hurn for a third-straight club champion award, to a calf complaint was another major blow, while Allen was sidelined by an ankle problem.

If Allen can prove his fitness he could replace suspended big man Nathan Vardy and provide back-up ruck support for Tom Hickey, should the Eagles' match committee take the cautious approach with marquee man Nic Naitanui.

Naitanui is expected back from his second knee reconstruction next week, but his first run is likely to be in the WAFL at East Fremantle Oval on June 22.

West Coast will be forced into at least two changes for the Essendon encounter, with goalsneak Willie Rioli and Vardy both accepting one-week bans for rough conduct.

It is unclear when half-forward Daniel Venables will be available after he was concussed four weeks ago, but clever small Jarrod Cameron could be in the frame to debut as a like-for-like replacement for Rioli.

The Next Generation Academy product is averaging 1.1 and three tackles from seven WAFL matches this season.

Cameron kicked one of only four goals for West Coast's reserves from nine touches against West Perth before the bye, while veteran wingman Chris Masten picked up 35 disposals in the six-goal defeat.
