FREMANTLE will blood Stephen Hill and Nic Suban in this week’s match against the Western Bulldogs.

The two youngsters have been named in the final 22 to take on the Bulldogs.

Suban told fremantlefc.com.au that he hadn’t aimed for a round one selection but was happy to hear the news.

“I was a bit surprised because I haven’t been putting any pressure on myself about getting a game,” Suban said.

“It’s started to sink in now… but I’m just treating it as a normal game, although with much higher intensity.”

Hill said he would try his best to control his nerves in the lead-up to his debut.

“I’m excited and really looking forward to it but I just want to play like I would in any other game and not get caught up in the hype,” he said.

Marcus Drum, Scott Thornton and Daniel Gilmore miss out for Fremantle.

The Bulldogs have left out Tom Williams, Jarrod Harbrow and Tim Callan, who did not recover in time from his anaphylactic shock last Wednesday. Callan Ward, Andrejs Everitt, Nathan Eagleton and Daniel Giansiracusa have been named on the bench.

North Melbourne midfielder Daniel Harris has missed selection for this week’s game against Melbourne. Harris was named on the extended bench on Thursday night but was left out when the 25-man squad was cut to 22 on Friday.

Harris joins the untried Benjamin Warren and Nathan Grima as emergencies. Warren was called in as an emergency after Liam Anthony was diagnosed with foot stress fractures on the eve of his debut.

Melbourne has included four debutants with Jake Spencer, Jamie Bennell, Kyle Cheney and Neville Jetta all included in the final 22. John Meesen, Stefan Martin and Lynden Dunn miss out from the original 25-man squad.

Josh Carr will make his return for Port Adelaide in this week’s match against Essendon. Carr was named on the bench with David Rodan, Travis Boak and Brendon Lade. Tom Logan, Toby Thurstans and the newly elevated Wade Thompson miss out.

Former Crow Hayden Skipworth will make his debut with the Bombers, joining Tom Bellchambers, Sam Lonergan and Ricky Dyson on the bench. Jay Nash, Tayte Pears and Jarrod Atkinson were left out of the 22.
