RICHMOND forward Jack Riewoldt says he would love to see Greater Western Sydney star Jeremy Cameron win this year's Coleman Medal.

Riewoldt, who has kicked 54 goals this season, is still in the mix to win his third Coleman Medal, trailing West Coast's Josh Kennedy (60) and Hawthorn's Jarryd Roughead (59).

Cameron, who has enjoyed an outstanding second season, sits third with 58 goals, having kicked 19 in his last four matches.

Riewoldt said topping the league's goalkicking list would be an ideal launching pad for the 20-year-old.

"I'd like to see Jeremy Cameron win the Coleman this year, he's probably my favourite player at the moment in the competition," Riewoldt said.

"The first time I won it in 2010 it was obviously a great honour and I think that could do wonders for his career if he can possibly pinch it this year, and All Australian.

"That would set him up for being a great player in the future."

Giants coach Kevin Sheedy has suggested he could rest Cameron this week, but he doesn't want to jeopardise the 20-year-old's All Australian chances.

Riewoldt, meanwhile, said winning his third Coleman Medal was not a focus after the Tigers confirmed they would be playing finals for the first time since 2001.

"I've got a couple, I don't need any more," he joked.

"I'd rather have a successful impact.

"Whatever I can do to get us across the line, it's not about individual awards, it's about the four points."

Riewoldt kicked 1.4 against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday, but Luke McGuane and Reece Conca stepped up and kicked three goals each.

"It just proves that to be a great side you need to have more avenues to goal," Riewoldt said.

"We've had half-forwards bob up on the weekend and kick goals.

"The more avenues we can find the easier it becomes to score goals."
