Beau Maister will miss up to six weeks with a wrist injury
ST KILDA has been dealt another injury blow ahead of its historic Anzac Day clash in New Zealand with forward Beau Maister ruled out for up to six weeks with a wrist injury.
Maister had scans on his right wrist following Saturday's 37-point loss to Essendon, which revealed a fracture.
The Saints believe he will miss between four and six weeks.
His injury will keep him from Thursday night's clash with the Sydney Swans at Wellington's Westpac Stadium, which will be disappointing for the 27-year-old who has family ties in Christchurch.
Maister, who was known as Beau Wilkes until the start of this year, has kicked seven goals in four games this season.
In February, he said he was determined to make sure he was considered for senior selection each week after becoming more confident with the Saints' game-plan, and had been playing well before the injury blow.
The Saints fly to Wellington on Tuesday morning ahead of Thursday night's game.
Defender Sean Dempster is rated a chance to return from a broken hand.
