THE Sydney Swans have axed goalsneak Nick Davis ahead of their round-two clash against Port Adelaide at the SCG on Sunday.

Davis, 27, gathered 14 possessions and booted one goal in the round-one loss to St Kilda, but has been dropped back to the emergency list to make way for Ed Barlow.

Luke Brennan and Ben Mathews were named in the extended squad on Thursday, but joined Davis on the emergency list when the final team was announced on Friday.

Port Adelaide has made one change as it looks to get a win on the board in 2008 with important backman Troy Chaplin replacing Tom Logan in the side defeated by Geelong at AAMI Stadium on the opening day of the season.

Logan, who had 10 disposals and a kicked a goal against the Cats, is an emergency along with Damon White and Greg Bentley.

Dean Polo and Chris Hyde will play their first games of the 2008 season for Richmond after the pair was named to replace suspended duo Kane Johnson and Cam Howat in the side to face North Melbourne at the MCG.

Polo, 21, will play his first game since round 11 last year when he sustained a shoulder injury that required surgery, while Hyde, 25, will be hoping for better things in 2008 after managing just 13 games last season.

Greg Tivendale, Mitch Morton and Shane Edwards are the emergencies.

Exciting youngster Lachlen Hansen comes in for North Melbourne at the expense of Scott Thompson, who made his AFL debut in round one.

Thompson, 21, gathered 12 possessions from defence in his first game, but drops back to the emergency list along with Ben Ross and Leigh Brown.

Geelong has made two changes ahead of its clash against Essendon with Harry Taylor and David Wojcinski in for Andrew Mackie (quad) and Kane Tenace (omitted).

Taylor, a 21-year-old, 193cm key-position prospect from East Fremantle, will make his AFL debut after being selected 17th overall in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft, while Wojcinski is returning from a finger injury.

David Johnson, Brent Prismall and Travis Varcoe make up the emergency list.

The Bombers have made just one forced change to the side that upset North Melbourne in round one with Jason Winderlich replacing injured forward Scott Lucas, who is set for an extended period on the sidelines after sustaining knee ligament damage last week.

The emergencies are Courtney Johns, Angus Monfries and Damien Peverill.
