COLLINGWOOD youngsters sweated it out on Tuesday, putting the boxing gloves on under the watchful eye of veteran fitness coach Bohdan Babijczuk.

While the mercury hit 34 degrees at the Holden Centre, Babijczuk worked with the Magpies' first-to-fourth-year players.

Babijczuk previously worked at Hawthorn and Melbourne.

Meanwhile, time trial king Tom Phillips once again took out the 2km race on Monday, edging out Josh Smith and midfielder James Aish in third.

Defender Brayden Maynard and big-bodied onballer Rupert Wills rounded out the top five.

Phillips has dominated the time trial since he was drafted in 2015, taking over Steele Sidebottom's mantle.

The rest of the squad is due back next Monday but Chris Mayne and Levi Greenwood came back a week early to kick start their preparations for 2018.
