ADELAIDE and Essendon have made no late changes for Friday night's crucial top-eight encounter at Adelaide Oval.

The Crows are boosted by the return of forward Tom Lynch having missed the past five games with a calf injury, with small forward Tyson Stengle unlucky to be squeezed out after booting three goals in last weekend's 95-point thumping of Gold Coast.

The Bombers welcome back skipper Dyson Heppell from a foot complaint, mid-season rookie draft recruit Will Snelling makes his club debut, Patrick Ambrose returns from a quad injury and Michael Hartley is recalled for his first senior game since Anzac Day last year.

They replace Michael Hurley (AC joint), Orazio Fantasia (hip), Zac Clarke (illness) and Jayden Laverde (managed).

Both sides have identical 9-7 win-loss records, with the Crows sitting seventh narrowly ahead of the eighth-placed Bombers on percentage.
