THE WESTERN Bulldogs have been dealt a blow ahead of their clash with Gold Coast at Mars Stadium in Ballarat with superstar Marcus Bontempelli a late withdrawal.
Bontempelli, who was stand-in skipper for the day, is battling hip soreness, and Mitch Honeychurch is his replacement.
In Bontempelli's absence, and that of Bulldogs skipper Easton Wood, Lachie Hunter will captain the side.
