ADELAIDE is considering swinging the selection axe to snap its two-game losing streak ahead of its crucial encounter with Melbourne in Darwin on Saturday night.

Midfielder Matt Crouch (hip/abdominal) and forward Tom Lynch (hamstring) are automatic inclusions if they pass fitness tests this week, while utility David Mackay was in good form before a virus forced him to miss last Saturday's 12-point loss to West Coast at Adelaide Oval.

The Crows are toying with throwing lead ruckman Sam Jacobs back in for his first game in two months after knee surgery to go head-to-head with Demons star Max Gawn.

And out-of-favour pair Josh Jenkins and Bryce Gibbs will be in consideration despite not playing football at any level last weekend, with the Crows' SANFL team having a bye.

Crows senior assistant coach Scott Camporeale said all options were on the table.

"We'll talk about (how many changes we make) as a match committee, but the last couple of weeks we haven't won games of footy," Camporeale said on Monday.

"Whether we need to make wholesale changes, or a couple, will be up for discussion."

Camporeale said Mackay would be available while the Crows are hopeful Crouch and Lynch would be ready to return.

"(Crouch) trained last week and was still a little bit sore, so he's obviously a really important player for us so we'll take no risks with him," he said.

"He'll train on Thursday in our main session along with Lynch, and fingers crossed, those guys will be available."

The Crows are likely to have Jacobs return through the SANFL, with the 198-game veteran not having played since round two.

However, they will take into account the form of novice Reilly O'Brien as he prepares to take one of the premier ruckmen in the competition.

"(Jacobs) has missed a fair bit of footy, so we would expect him to play SANFL," Camporeale said.

"We'll certainly discuss it at match committee with Gawn and with his dominance and we'll assess how Reilly is going as well, almost a 10-game player, so we'll have to make sure we make the right call on that."

Camporeale said Jenkins – who has been overlooked for the senior side since round four – and Gibbs – dropped for the second time this season to improve areas of his game – were in the mix, despite not playing at any level last weekend.

"We do drills in training during the week that rectify some of that stuff as well, so we want to see changes in behaviour," Camporeale said.

Crows co-captain Taylor Walker has come under fire for a below-par performance against the Eagles, notably for his effort in a contest with Eagles skipper Shannon Hurn.

Power great Kane Cornes was among the critics, telling AFL.com.au's The Round So Far it was a moment Walker "would like to have again" while Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd told Access All Areas that Walker was fortunate he hadn't suffered the same fate as his senior teammates Jenkins and Gibbs.

"I think it's pretty easy from the outside to isolate one incident," Camporeale said of Walker's performance against Adelaide.

"He would like to have his time again, but we move on and we've got to keep making sure that we play at the level the game requires."
