THE GROUND staff at the MCG are furiously repairing the look of the centre circle ahead of Saturday's AFL Grand Final, after it was smudged by wet paint earlier in the day.

The circle had just been painted when the under-17s NAB All Stars 'Futures' game started on Saturday morning, with white footmarks quickly spreading across the ground.

It left the ground staff forced to make a series of alterations immediately after the match concluded, drying and mopping the surface while re-painting the centre circle.

They have just over two hours to ensure the ground looks in tip-top shape by the start of the AFL Grand Final between Richmond and Greater Western Sydney.
