SYDNEY has confirmed big man Sam Reid will miss Sunday's blockbuster Optus Stadium clash with West Coast due to a tight hamstring.

Young gun Will Hayward, who was a surprise omission from the selected side, comes into the final 22.

AFL.com.au reported earlier on Sunday that Reid was in doubt after missing Tuesday's training session.

His absence leaves the Swans short on big men in attack, with Dean Towers and resting ruckman Callum Sinclair set to offer Lance Franklin aerial support.

The Eagles will go in unchanged, with Liam Ryan, Jake Waterman and Daniel Venables set to debut.
