YOUR face is not your ticket – that's fast becoming the rule across AFL venues, where perhaps in the past who you were got you straight through the gates.

Former Carlton captain and the club's current football director, Chris Judd, is the latest to find out first hand.

He told Triple M listeners on Thursday morning he initially thought "it was a good joke" when he was refused entry at Ikon Park on Wednesday night, he quickly realised the security guard was serious.

"I liked that the young bloke had a sense of humour, and I continued to walk through, and he said, 'Nope, you can't come in'.

"I mean, there's good news and bad news from that. The bad news was I was embarrassed. The good news was that young bloke's got a new employment opportunity elsewhere in the community," Judd joked.

Judd went to the next gate, where he was granted entry.

It follows the hullabaloo surrounding Western Bulldogs benefactor Susan Alberti being refused entry at Whitten Oval's main gate for last week's AFLW match.

Judd joked he's expecting an apology from Carlton president Mark LoGiudice.

"Something will be coming," he said.
