ANDREW Gaff continues to wrestle with the biggest decision of his football career and isn't expected to make an announcement on his future until at least Sunday.

The West Coast midfielder thanked a number of people for their involvement at the Eagles when he accepted the fifth-place trophy at Friday night's best and fairest but didn't address speculation he is leaving the club.

AFL.com.au understands there is no planned announcement for Saturday and only a chance of one on Sunday, with no official timeline laid out for how things progress.

Gaff, a restricted free agent, is considering whether he stays an Eagle beyond this season or returns to his native Victoria to take up a massive offer from North Melbourne.

It's been reported the Kangaroos have put a seven-year deal worth more than $8 million on the table.

Gaff was in Melbourne again this week before returning to Perth for the best and fairest.

With the NAB AFL Free Agency period officially opening on Friday, his decision is imminent, with some predicting it would come over the weekend once the West Coast official function was over.

The fact he didn't commit to the Eagles in his speech has many convinced he is leaning towards a return to Victoria and making Arden Street his home.

Meanwhile, the Eagles have three days to consider matching Port Adelaide's five-year, $3 million offer lodged for restricted free agent Scott Lycett on Saturday.

Lycett toured Alberton on Thursday and is keen to return to the club at which he played his junior football.
