The AFL, in conjunction with Toyota Australia, is excited to launch the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup Tour, with a legends road trip across Australia reaching every state and territory for the first time.
This year’s Premiership Cup Tour sees three-time All Australian, two-time Coleman medallist and Richmond three-time AFL premiership player Jack Riewoldt step into the role of the 2025 AFL Premiership Cup Ambassador.
Joined by a line-up of legendary friends who’ll each take on different legs of the journey, together they’ll bring the Cup to fans in every state and territory before it returns to the MCG ahead of the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
2025 AFL Premiership Cup Ambassador, Jack Riewoldt, said being chosen to present the Cup on Grand Final day is an incredible honour and a rare opportunity after his playing career.
“Being selected as the 2025 AFL Premiership Cup Ambassador is a great honour,” Riewoldt said. “You don’t often get the chance to step back out on Grand Final day once you’ve finished playing, so it will be a real thrill.
“This year’s Cup is a special one as it will be the first time it travels to all states and territories as part of the Toyota AFL Premiership Cup Tour.
“The Cup is such a special symbol – it means something different to everyone and connects people in a really powerful way, and I can’t wait to share it with fans across the country.”
Already fresh from meeting NBA star Josh Giddey, Wrexham AFC defender Dan Scarr, and visiting community football programs across Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Tasmania, the Cup will officially set off on its road trip this September.
Kicking off in South Australia on Tuesday, September 2, the Tour will continue through Queensland before making its way down the eastern seaboard to New South Wales, Canberra and Victoria, before arriving at the MCG on September 21.
Along the way, fans can look forward to a host of memorable experiences - from a lively trivia night in Adelaide where supporters can put their footy knowledge to the test, to a once-in-a-lifetime climb of Sydney’s iconic Harbour Bridge with the Cup, through to a special community celebration in Finley that brings the Cup back to the heart of grassroots football.
The convoy of Toyota vehicles will travel through metro hubs and country towns, stopping at community football clubs, Toyota dealerships, and iconic landmarks, giving fans the chance to see the Cup up close and join in the fun.
AFL Executive General Manager of Game Development, Rob Auld, said the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup Tour is set to make history, with the Cup hitting the road for an unforgettable journey and reaching every state and territory in Australia for the first time.
“The Toyota AFL Premiership Cup Tour has grown into a cherished tradition that brings the excitement of our game directly to communities across the country,” Mr Auld said.
“With the Cup already visiting Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania, it’s great that we can bring the Cup to all states and territories for the first time.
“Thanks to our premier partner Toyota, fans from every corner of the country can get up close and personal with one of the AFL’s most iconic pieces of silverware.
“I can’t wait to see local footy fans of all ages come together to share in the excitement and be inspired by what the game represents.”
Toyota Australia Chief Marketing Officer, Vin Naidoo, said Toyota is proud to once again deliver the Premiership Cup Tour alongside the AFL in 2025.
“Each year, the Premiership Cup Tour reminds us why footy holds such a special place in the hearts of Australians.
“This year, the Tour is not only about showcasing the Premiership Cup, but also celebrating the legendary moments and unforgettable stories that have shaped our game, from history-making goals and iconic marks to the communities that live and breathe footy every weekend.
“The Toyota AFL Premiership Cup Tour will once again travel through metro and regional towns, connecting fans to the magic of the game while thanking them for their continued support and contribution at every level.
“We’re excited that Toyota will carry the Premiership Cup on its journey across the country, inspiring the next generation of footy legends along the way,” Mr Naidoo said.
