The AFL in partnership with the Victorian Government is pleased to announce the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade will be held on Friday 26 September, with an elevated viewing experience and new additions to the procession confirmed for this year.
The Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade will once again see the iconic Toyota HiLux vehicles carry the Grand Finalists through the MCG precinct, with people from around the country and overseas set to descend on the area to watch from the fan friendly route, which will once again bypass public roads and provide more viewing opportunities.
2025 will see an elevated Birrarung Marr precinct with entertainment from 9.00am (AEST) including DJs and emcees to get the fans pumped up before the highly anticipated Parade makes its way through the precinct.
Melbourne Park Oval will again be one of the prime spots for families and fans to catch all the Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade action, with pre-parade entertainment starting at 9.00am (AEST) including food and beverage offerings, live music and AFL legends in attendance, before the official motorcade kicks-off with a big screen to catch every minute of the action.
The Parade also set to pay homage to the broader football community in 2025 with representatives from the NAB AFLW Competition and the Toyota AFL also a part of the motorcade.
The 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade will commence at approximately 10.30am (AEST) and will be broadcast exclusively on Fox Footy.
The Parade route will again progress through Melbourne Park Precinct to Birrarung Marr, over the William Barak Bridge and into the MCG Yarra Park Precinct, finishing at the AFL’s free Macca’s Footy Fest.
The Grand Final teams and 2025 AFL Premiership Cup will be presented on the Macca’s Footy Fest main stage at approximately midday.
AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Bec Haagsma said the parade will once again be a must watch for all footy fans in 2025.
“The Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade is an iconic family-friendly event each year and in 2025 we’ll be enhancing the experience at Birrarung Marr, creating three incredible viewing opportunities for parade-goers who are enjoying the Grand Final week festivities and all it has to offer,” Haagsma said.
“We are enhancing the parade even further with special segments to celebrate the broader AFL community including AFLW and the incredible Toyota AFL Open athletes.
“We can’t wait to see all the fans soaking up the atmosphere as they cheer on the new additions to the parade, plus all their favourite players as the Toyota HiLux motorcade passes by.”
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said the parade celebrates all that is great about the Grand Final in our state.
“Victoria is the major events capital of the nation and footy finals is one of the best times of year."
"The Grand Final Parade is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our city and give families and fans the opportunity to get up close to their football heroes before the biggest game of the year.”
Toyota Australia Chief Marketing Officer Vin Naidoo said:
“Toyota is incredibly proud to play a pivotal role in the excitement and build up to the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final, celebrating not only the two teams who’ve made it to the biggest stage, but the broader community that makes this game so special.
"The Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade is about bringing fans closer to the players, the Premiership Cup, and the traditions of our sport, and in 2025 it’s set to be bigger and better with new segments honouring AFLW and the AFL Open.
"We can’t wait to see our fleet of Toyota HiLux’s carrying the stars of the game through Melbourne Park and into Yarra Park as thousands of fans line the streets to cheer them on.”
Melbourne Park Oval provides an accessible and family friendly opportunity for fans to watch the Parade and is the best spot to see the players, with easy access to Richmond Train Station and public transport systems to get to and from the parade.
Announced last week, the 2025 Macca’s Footy Fest will also return to the Yarra Park precinct for four days of fun – running from Wednesday September 25 – Saturday September 28.
The Macca’s Footy Fest Live Site is packed with free entertainment for the whole family, including player appearances, giveaways, Toyota Legendary Dodgems and an array of food and beverage options.
