THE AFL has announced the full 25-player squad set to represent Australia in the 2026 NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland match at North Sydney Oval on Saturday, 1 August.
Among the players named today are 10 premiership stars, including North Melbourne's Emma Kearney, Libby Birch and Tahlia Randall; Melbourne's Tyla Hanks, Maeve Chaplin and Tahlia Gillard; Adelaide Crows' Ebony Marinoff and Chelsea Biddell; Brisbane Lions' Sophie Conway; and Essendon's Maddison Gay.
They join an already star-studded Australian squad featuring Jasmine Garner and Ash Riddell (North Melbourne), Kate Hore (Melbourne), Monique Conti (Richmond), Courtney Hodder (Brisbane Lions), Georgie Prespakis (Geelong Cats), Matilda Scholz (Port Adelaide) and Zippy Fish (Sydney Swans), who were announced earlier this week.
Chloe Molloy (Sydney Swans) and Harriet Cordner (Carlton) add further experience and leadership, while West Australian trio Mim Strom (Fremantle), Charlie Thomas and Ella Roberts (West Coast Eagles), alongside exciting midfielders Ellie McKenzie (Richmond) and Tyanna Smith (St Kilda), round out the squad.
Australian Football Hall of Fame member and women's football trailblazer Debbie Lee chaired the selection panel.
Dual North Melbourne premiership coach Darren Crocker will lead Australia in the historic clash and be supported by Australian Football Hall of Fame member, AFLW premiership captain and West Coast Eagles senior coach Daisy Pearce as senior assistant coach.
Australia's coaching ranks will also feature AFL premiership player and Essendon AFLW Head of Development Ben Brown, dual Adelaide Crows premiership player-turned-assistant coach Courtney Cramey and Sydney Swans assistant coach Tanya Hetherington, while West Coast Eagles Head of AFLW Michelle Cowan will oversee football operations.
Australian senior coach Darren Crocker said:
"We’re excited by the group of players we've assembled to represent Australia.
"Selecting just 25 players was an enormous challenge given the depth of talent across the competition, but we believe we’ve put together a well-balanced squad with the experience, leadership and attributes to be more than competitive and showcase how far our game has come.
"We can't wait to see them come together against Ireland.
"Representing your country is a special honour, and we know the players selected will embrace the opportunity to be part of this historic clash."
NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland will bring together some of the competition's biggest stars and emerging talent to celebrate the continued growth of women's football and the strong connection between AFLW and Ireland.
The match will be played under Australian Football rules using a classic Sherrin football and will mark the first AFLW representative fixture since the one-off contest between Victoria and the Allies in 2017.
Tickets for the 2026 NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland match go on sale today, Wednesday 24 June, via Ticketmaster.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for youth (aged 15-17), $5 for children (14 and under), while a family of four can attend for $50. The match will start at 4:15pm AEST on Saturday, 1 August and will be broadcast live nationally on Fox Footy, Kayo Sports, Kayo Freebies and Binge.
