IS BOMBER Joe Daniher's soaring mark over St Kilda's Sam Gilbert the year's best?

Daniher's steepling grab has been named among the three finalists for this year's Woolworth's Mark of the Year.

North Melbourne Majak Daw and Giant Rory Lobb are the other finalists.

Daw flew for an incredible hanger against the Magpies in round 18.

Lobb ran back with the flight to take a courageous mark in traffic, reminiscent of past grabs by Nick Riewoldt and Jonathan Brown.

Fans' votes will determine 2016's Mark of the Year and Goal of the Year, with both awards to be announced during the Brownlow Medal presentation on Monday, September 26.

Meanwhile, Crow Eddie Betts is in the running to retain his Woolworths Goal of the Year crown, after he conned Giants defenders to goal from the 'Betts pocket' in round 10.

Betts will have to earn the fans' vote ahead of 2013 winner Lance Franklin, whose 70m bomb helped sink the Hawks in round 11.

North Melbourne's Shaun Atley is the third Goal of the Year finalist.

The Mark and Goal of the Year finalists were selected by the All Australian selection panel from the fans' weekly winners.

Chaired by AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan, the panel consists of Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea.
