Key dates for the NAB AFL Trade Period
Indicative draft order: What picks will your club take to the draft

THE NAB AFL Trade Period officially kicks off on Monday and clubs and players alike are readying themselves to make early moves.

Free agency is already underway, with Hawthorn making an offer to Richmond forward Ty Vickery, who is a restricted free agent.

AFL.com.au's Trade Winds will provide a round-up of the latest action every morning until the end of the Trade Period on Thursday, October 20.

Gun Swans mid to become a Hawk

Out-of-contract Sydney Swans onballer Tom Mitchell is expected to tell the Swans on Monday that he will accept a four-year deal from Hawthorn, according to the Herald Sun.

The report says Mitchell met with at least one other Victorian club last week.

AFL.com.au reported last Friday that Mitchell would continue contract negotiations with the Swans over the weekend.

Mitchell, 23, finished eighth in the club's best and fairest.

Another to become a Hawk

Foxsports.com.au says Richmond will not impede Tyrone Vickery's move to Hawthorn, with the Tiger set to earn $1 million over two years.

The Tigers had the option of forcing the tall forward to stay by matching Hawthorn's offer, since Vickery was a restricted free agent.

However, according to the report, the Tigers are happy with the compensation selection they are likely to receive. It is expected to fall in the second round.

Richmond must make its final decision on Monday.

Blue's interest in returning home

Speculation continues to swirl around Carlton midfielder Bryce Gibbs, with The Australian reporting that he is open to becoming a Crow.

He is contracted until the end of 2019 and the Blues have not sought to move Gibbs on, according to the report.

Gibbs was born in South Australia and was drafted by Carlton with the first selection overall in 2006.

Essendon's draft ploy

Channel 7 reported on Sunday that Essendon could use its No.1 selection to bid for either Gold Coast academy player Jack Bowes or Greater Western Sydney academy player Will Setterfield.

That move could force either the Suns or the Giants to swap two of their picks for the first overall pick.

Gold Coast holds No.4 and 8, with No. 6 possibly incoming in a swap to Richmond for Dion Prestia. GWS has No.7 and 15, but AFL.com.au reported on Sunday that the Giants could seek to acquire No.3 in a deal with Fremantle involving forward Cam McCarthy.

North Melbourne star Daniel Wells and Fremantle forward Chris Mayne will accept offers at Collingwood on Monday, according to The Age.

Both are unrestricted free agents, meaning their clubs can't force the players to stay.
