BRISBANE has secured another key signature ahead of Saturday's semi-final at the Gabba, locking in Dayne Zorko for 2027 on Wednesday.

After securing a commitment from Zac Bailey on Monday night and finalising the eight-year deal on Tuesday morning, the Lions have now re-signed Zorko.

The 37-year-old has been keen to play on for a 17th season and has now put pen to paper on a one-year deal ahead of the do-or-die final against Adelaide.

Zorko didn't miss a game in both premiership seasons in 2024 and 2025, but has played 14 games so far in 2026 due to soft tissue issues.

The five-time Merrett-Murray Medal winner will be 38 by the start of next season, but has produced some of the best football of his career in the Grand Final era, earning All-Australian selection in 2024, seven years after his first blazer. 

Zorko is only five games behind Brisbane's games record held by champion midfielder Simon Black.

With potentially three games to come in 2026, Zorko will now get the chance to surpass that mark early next season.
