SYDNEY star Nick Blakey will be seeking a move to North Melbourne this trade period, according to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.

The 26-year-old defender has been exploring his options after growing disgruntled at the Swans.

Blakey, contracted for another five years at Sydney, wants a move to the Kangaroos, where his father John played 224 games.

As reported by AFL.com.au on Thursday, Blakey was offered an enormous eight-year, $11 million offer by the Roos.

On Friday morning he returned to Arden Street for a medical check.

Blakey’s disenchantment at the Swans has allegedly stemmed from the club’s handling of the incident that occurred at the Pullman Hotel after Sydney’s round 23 win against Essendon on August 16th.

How North Melbourne will satisfy a trade is not yet known, with the club currently holding picks 5, 45, 64, 72 and 82 in this year’s draft.
