HAWTHORN forwards Aidan Schubert and Sam Butler are set to join Gold Coast after a trade was agreed on Monday.
AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey is reporting Schubert and Butler will head to the Suns, with a host of draft picks changing hands.
In return for losing Schubert and Butler, the Hawks will get a 2028 second-round pick from the Suns, while the Hawks have also upgraded their 2027 third-round pick for Gold Coast's second-round pick that year.
The two clubs have also swapped first-round picks in 2028.
Ironically, the 2027 third-round pick the Hawks have given up in the deal originally belonged to the Suns. It had ended up with Melbourne in the Christian Petracca deal last year before the Dees traded it to the Western Bulldogs in the mega deal last week, before the Hawks got it in a picks swap with the Dogs last Friday.
After Ben King's arrival from Gold Coast and the re-signing of Calsher Dear, Schubert opted to take up a chance to join the Suns, where greater opportunities are set to await.
The No.23 pick in last year's draft, the tall is highly rated and made his AFL debut in round 21 this year.
Butler, 23, has struggled for opportunities at the Hawks, limited to just eight games this year and 33 in five seasons.
